10 Tips To Make Metro Awakening Enjoyable

Hey VR gamers and Metro lovers. Here's a few ways you can increase your success and enjoyment of Metro Awakening aka Metro VR aka finally another quality Virtual Reality shooter that isn't another sandbox or procedurally generated roguelike.
Tip #1: Get A Nice AK
Alright tip number one is probably the most vital in the entire game and that's to make sure to pick which AK you use wisely. Take the most tricked out version you can find.
There'll be plenty to pick from once you start fighting human enemies. Just put your current Kalash in your left hand, pick up the new one you want in your right hand and store it over your right shoulder.
Easy as pie. I personally recommend the stockless version for extra aiming mobility in the cramped metro tunnels. Yes, they're functionally all identical, but when you're playing the only Metro game with no weapon or equipment customization you've got to get that bit of serotonin somewhere.
Tip #2: Be Sneaky
So tip number 2 is probably going to be a little controversial but make sure you take advantage of stealth and knock enemies out when you can by just punching them on the back of the head or thwacking them with a weapon.
I could say this is to save ammo, but it's really because the ragdoll deaths of the human enemies are kind of hilarious. Especially after you just looney tunes style knocked them down with a single punch.
I guess this was just easier to make than then a knife that stabs people, but I guess Saints and Sinners already did that so why do it again.
Tip #3: Hoard Ammo
Tip number three is to make sure you take the mags out of your fallen enemies' weapons for the ammo. Resource management is like 70% of success in any Metro game and Metro Awakening is not an exception.
Though don't expect your enemies to have ammo that you can loot on their bodies like in literally any other Metro title. I guess having an amazing looting system where you're using your real hands to take supplies off of dead opponents would just be too immersive and amazing so the developers decided to just not do it.
Probably the same reason why they decided not to do weapon upgrades or throwing knives and the arsenal is like one fifth the size of that in any other Metro title.
Tip #4: Turn Your Brightness Up
For number four the tip is to turn the brightness up. It's really dark, like super dark, in the tunnels of a metro in the post-apocalypse.
You do get a headlamp that gets recharged with a little recharging device a lot like the one Artyom has, which is insanely cool, but It'll still be generally easier to see if you turn the brightness up.
Tip #5: Stay Chill
Don't worry though because in tip number five I'm addressing that this game still can be scary as all hell. You might have heard of or seen the arachnophobia warning when starting it up.
There are some jump scares that actually really land, and some sections that do a great job in classic Metro fashion of really building up the dread and anticipation. So basically don't have arachnophobia and make sure not to accidentally run into a wall or something and you'll be fine.
Tip #6: Be Patient In Chapter 1
The sixth tip is actually the most important tip of all, but I saved it for later to reward you for watching this far into the video. Play the game in seated mode during the first chapter.
The Prologue starts out seeming really promising, but the pacing just gets absolutely murdered and Chapter One is all turning wheels and listening to people talk for way too long.
So take a seat and just kind of watch your way through. When you hit chapter 2 the game gets much more interesting very quickly.
Tip #7: The Gas Mask Is A Vibe
Tip number seven is about just as essential. If you really want to make everything feel more immersive and apocalyptic then wear your gas mask even when you don't have to.
It really just multiplies the Metro vibes, and your filters don’t get used if you aren't in a radioactive zone so you can wear it for as long as you want to.
Tip #8: Center Yourself On Carts
Oh and for Tip Number eight also make sure to stand in the middle of your playspace when you start one of the metro cart sections.
Since these sections are clearly the least functional pieces of the game you'll be rooted to that spot, so if you start the cart section while physically standing right in front of a wall you'll be annoyed when you hit your boundary just by placing your hand son the machine gun.
So make sure to center yourself before flipping that on switch and make sure you've got plenty of room for some stationary shooting. Otherwise you'll have to deal with it until the cart stops.
Tip #9: The Pistol Is Wack
For tip number nine make sure to forget what I said about hoarding ammo when it comes to the pistol. For some reason the designers thought it would be funny to only let you hold 28 pistol rounds in reserve.
You'll find yourself often either having no ammo for the pistol after briefly remembering it exists and using it, or way more ammo than you can carry. It takes a whole mag to take down basically anything, and that's if you hit your shots, so the pistol is an easy weapon to forget after you get the Kalash.
I found myself using the AK almost all of the time anyway. The Helsing takes forever to reload if you miss and the Shambler doesn't show up until about six hours into the game, which is so late for such a cool weapon.
Tip #10: Don’t Compare Metro Awakening To Half Life: Alyx
For the tenth and final tip I'd say make sure you don't compare this game to Half Life: Alyx. Half Life: Alyx still won't come to Quest no matter how many letters I send to Valve, and Metro Awakening is not about to unseat Alyx as the number one single player shooter adventure to ever come to Virtual Reality headsets.
If you think you're better at giving tips for Metro Awakening than me then prove it in the comments by outdoing my tips and tricks with your own.
This all being said Metro Awakening is about as good of a VR Metro game as we could have asked for given the state of the Virtual Reality games industry, and I've been absolutely binging it whenever possible.
Where the gameplay sometimes fails the immersion into the Metro world and the story of Khan kept me coming back.
Blade And Sorcery Golem Boss Fight Guide And Tips
Having trouble with Blade and Sorcery’s Golem Boss Fight? Well you wouldn’t be the only one.
The golem boss, lovingly named Hector by the community, is an opponent you will have to defeat quite a few times in Blade & Sorcery.
Luckily I’ve got a guide and some tips here on fighting the Blade & Sorcery boss golem so that you can upgrade your crystals and progress further in the game.
Having trouble with Blade and Sorcery’s Golem Boss Fight? Well you wouldn’t be the only one.
The golem boss, lovingly named Hector by the community, is an opponent you will have to defeat quite a few times in Blade & Sorcery.
Why? Because you will need to defeat this Blade and Sorcery boss every time you want to get a new crystal to upgrade your magic. You might as well get good at fighting the golem boss, because you’ll be doing it a lot.
Luckily I’ve got a guide and some tips here on fighting the Blade & Sorcery boss golem so that you can upgrade your crystals and progress further in the game.
How To Defeat The Blade And Sorcery Golem Boss
You need to destroy each of the pink crystals found on the golem’s body to destroy it. They shine pretty brightly, so when you see them you’ll know it.
These crystals can be located all over the golem. Some are on his upper legs, while others can be on his torso, upper arms, and even his back.
These crystals can be smashed with anything, even your bare fists if you hit them enough times, but a single hit with a blunt object will do just as fine.
While you can destroy some of the crystals by just jumping up and swinging a weapon overhead, like those on the golem’s legs, you’d have to actually climb up the golem’s arms and back to reach others.
It doesn’t end there though. You’ll notice that some of the crystals are also covered in a strange energy barrier. These barriers can’t be smashed. After you’ve destroyed a few of the crystals on the golem’s body you’ll need to look around the arena and find a big glowing blue crystal.
There are several of these throughout the arena, but only one will be revealed at a time. The others will be covered with a magical barrier. Once you find the crystal then smash it.
Some are easy to get to and can be smashed with a fist or melee weapon, while others may force you to climb to get close to them. You can always break those from afar with ranged attacks. If you don’t want to, or can’t, do that, there will always be something climbable that can get you close enough to smash it.
Once the blue crystal is smashed one of the golem’s pink crystals will lose the barrier protecting it, and the golem will also crouch down and be temporarily stunned. Run over to the golem quickly and take this opportunity to smash one of the crystals in a hard to reach area, like on its back.
Once all of the pink crystals are smashed the golem will kneel down and not get back up. Hit its face to reveal the crystal beneath and pull the crystal out of its head to defeat it.
A once closed door will open in the chamber that you fight the golem in, go through that door and you can place the crystal on a pedestal and choose what kind of crystal you want. Then step on the glowing circle nearby to teleport back home.
Equipment Tips For The Blade And Sorcery Boss Golem Fight
As with any boss fight in any game it’s important to show up prepared not only with knowledge (which is why you’re reading this article) but also with the right ingame equipment to tilt the chances of success in your favor.
Even if you showed up the golem boss fight with no weapons at all you will be relieved to know that there are a few pieces of equipment to be found within the arena itself. Just to the right of the gravity lift that you fall into the arena on you’ll find a spear and shield lying on the ground.
The shield isn’t particularly useful the first few times you fight the golem, but the golem does get more dangerous the more times you defeat him.
Later on they will develop a long ranged lighting beam attack that you can reflect with the shield. You can use the reflected beam to destroy the golem’s crystals as well. The shield can also be helpful in deflecting the golem’s other attacks.
The spear isn’t ideal, but it is also useful as a means to smash the boss’s crystals by just hitting them with the shaft of the spear like it’s just a long club.
You’ll also notice that on either side of the arena there are these bowls inlaid into the walls that are full of lightning. Next to each of them is a bow and a quiver of arrows.
Dip the arrow into the lightning to charge it. Then fire it with the bow. The arrow will become a homing arrow that will home in on the nearest crystal. It’s not very smart though, so if another piece of the golem is in the way the homing arrow will just bounce off.
Also keep in mind that the lightning won’t stick to the arrowhead for long, so you have to fire it quickly before it wears off. You can use these arrows to hit the golem’s pink crystals from afar, or destroy the big blue crystals that are in hard to reach places without having to climb to them.
The biggest drawback to relying on using ranged weapons is how limited your ammunition is, with just about forty arrows total being present in the arena. Each crystal also won’t break with just a single hit from an arrow, you will have to hit the crystal multiple times.
There is also a big ancient hammer to the found next to the central pillar in the arena. While it isn’t ideal it can also be used to smash crystals. The same goes for the sword found on top of the ridge just to the left of the entrance to the arena (you’ll have to climb up or take the ramp on the other side of it to get up there).
So, naturally, it’s better for you to bring in some more ideal weapons for yourself. I’ve found that the easiest weapons to use to quickly smash crystals are short blunt weapons like the club, trench mace, or flanged mace. A small axe can also be a great choice to quickly smash those crystals.
These can be easily wielded with one hand so that you can grab it from a weapon slot while you’re hanging on to the golem with your other hand. They will also smash a crystal in a single hit.
You could bring additional quiver of arrows if you like to use your bow to fight the golem. Bringing your own shield is unnecessary, but you should also consider your choice of magical crystals when fighting the golem.
For instance, once you have obtained two gravity crystals and combined them you can use gravity magic to launch yourself into the air, which is very useful for quickly getting to high places in the boss arena, or jumping on to the golem’s back.
You can also use gravity magic to deflect the boulders the golem throws at you. So if you want more help against this Blade and Sorcery boss then make sure to get gravity crystals whenever you can. It’s the most helpful magic for fighting the golem.
If you can get some armor to prevent you taking as much damage that is also helpful, but not nearly as much as bringing healing items.
Bring as many healing items as you can. The more you bring then the longer you can stay in the fight, just make sure to use them when your health gets low and you see red. If you can’t afford armor or healing items you can always keep doing outposts and arena battles on the map until you can afford as many as you like.
Bringing the right items can make the Blade & Sorcery golem boss fight a lot easier.
Some Golem Boss Fight Tips
So we’ve gone through how to defeat Blade & Sorcery’s Golem Boss Fight (destroy their pink crystals, then destroy the blue crystals to remove the shield from the rest of the pink crystals).
We’ve also gone through what sort of equipment you should bring (a short club, tons of healing items, armor if possible, arrows if you prefer ranged attacks, gravity magic if possible).
Now for some more general tips that will help you stay alive in the boss fight arena and defeat the boss.
First of all, mobility is key in this boss fight. You don’t want to let the golem hit you by swinging his big arms or throwing a rock at you. The key to avoiding these attacks is mobility. Stay moving as much as possible. Remember to swing your arms to run. As long as you don’t stand still and keep your distance you will have an easy time avoiding most of the boss’s attacks.
This also applies when you’re climbing the body of the golem itself. The golem has a lot of handholds for you climb up him, but you can only grab on to him for a very short time before they throw you off. So make sure to climb as quickly as you can with both hands, before grabbing a weapon with just one of your hands to smash a crystal.
Right after you smash a crystal make sure to jump off of the golem and run away, because the golem will throw you off of him with damaging magic, like a blast of gravity or electricity. Though if you’re quick enough you can destroy two crystals at once before jumping off. It’s risky, but if you’re quick you can pull it off.
When you’re far away from the golem make sure to keep moving to avoid their ranged attacks, and when you’re close make sure to carefully pick your opportunity to jump on top of them and get at those crystals.
You can just jump up to hit the crystals on his lower back and legs, but you’ll need to use ranged attacks or climb to reach the upper crystals. If you get hit make sure to heal up at a safe distance before taking another shot.
You can even run to the other side of the big pillar in the center of the arena to buy yourself some time where you won’t have to dodge the golem’s ranged attacks. This can be especially useful when smashing the crystal near the ceiling there, since the boss will take a while to walk around and start attacking you again.
That’s about it! You won’t need to use all of these tactics to defeat the Blade and Sorcery boss fight, so take and use whatever fits your playstyle. Enjoy!

UNDERDOGS is pretty hard VR fighting game to complete all the way to the end. Of course it is! It’s a roguelike. So here are 5 UNDERDOGS VR Tips and Tricks will help you get further along in the game before getting destroyed, and will help you win the whole game, become a champion mech fighter, and save your little brother.
As an intense VR Fighting Game and a roguelike, UNDERDOGS is pretty difficult to actually complete all the way through. That is, of course, because if you get smashed and lose the game you have to start all over again from the beginning.
So every playthrough has the potential to end with early failure, or take you all the way to the end. Though each attempt can also end at around the same place the last one did, leaving you frustrated and feeling like there’s a point in the game that you just can’t progress past.
Well if you feel that way, or just want to get better at UNDERDOGS in general then try these fantastic UNDERDOGS tips and tricks that are sure to give you a fighting chance out in the arena and increase your chances of making it up to New Brakka and winning the game.
1: Stay Mobile
The number one most important tip in UNDERDOGS that will improve not only your offensive, but also your defensive potential, is to not stay still and stay on the move.
You will be outnumbered almost all of the time when fighting in UNDERDOGS, and the hordes of bots you will fight will do their best to surround you, corner you, and attack you from the sides and back where you are vulnerable.
Don’t let your enemies do this. Always stay moving and only stop for as long as it takes to strike. Don’t keep attacking a single enemy for too long, and try not to leave your back vulnerable for too long. King will also often shout a warning when an enemy robot attacks you from the side or rear.
While being outnumbered may make it seem like the odds are stacked against you, UNDERDOG’s unique movement system makes staying on the move somewhat easy. You just having to grab the ground and drag yourself in whatever direction you want to move.
You can generate momentum in any direction from a complete standstill, and moving only requires a quick arm motion. Despite the size of your Gorilla mech, speed and mobility is one of its greatest strengths.
Of course awareness is also an important component in your mobility, so also make sure to not get tunnel vision on a single opponent and be aware of other bots preparing to jump you. Constant movement and constantly looking around at your surroundings will help with this.
2: Hit and Run Against Bosses
Staying mobile also applies when you are fighting any of the bosses in UNDERDOGS.
Each of the bosses are bigger, faster, and hit harder than the normal enemies you will meet. Don’t think that just because they’re around the same size as you that means you should be standing face to face with them and duking it out blow for blow.
The bosses deal lots of damage and have huge health pools. They can withstand a lot more punishment than you. They can also deal out punishment much faster than you.
So when fighting any of UNDERDOG’s bosses keep in mind that mobility is still key. Get in when you can, deliver a blow or two, and then get out before the boss hits back. Stay on the move and stay alive.
3: Hit Weak Points
Bosses, and a lot of enemies, also have weak points that you can strike for extra damage, and these weak points also sometimes coincide with other mechanics in the game, like overcharge and overheating.
Starting with the bosses, each of them have weak points that you should always aim for to strike for maximum damage. For instance, the champions of each arena are in mechs that are a lot like yours, and just like yours the weak spot is the bubble that protects the driver.
Hit this bubble to deal the most damage when you strike at these bosses, and keep in mind that this applies to robot enemies as well, especially the larger ones.
The very common dog robots are all weak to strikes in the head, and their heads won’t have armor on them, so you should always aim there.
The big gorilla robots are also vulnerable to strikes to the head, though their heads are much smaller, and the rhino robots reveal a massive engine inside their backs after they charge, so strike those as quickly as possible to deal massive damage.
Rhino robots, conversely, are actually very hard to hit in the head due to the spikes surrounding their noggins, and so body shots are actually preferable on them.
Oh, and just like with the rhino it’s always better to attack a bot when it is overheated and vulnerable, like the more common Alphas which will always bite and latch on when overcharged, but are harmless during their brief periods of overheat.
4: Use The Environment
You’ll notice pretty quickly that the arenas of UNDERDOGS are full of traps and objects that will affect the fight between you and your many opponents.
Well this UNDERDOGS Tip is here to remind you to take full advantage of the arena that you are fighting in. Seriously, if you make use of the many traps and deadly pieces of scenery spread throughout the arena you will significantly improve your ability to deal damage and therefore survive and win.
Take the Killbox, the very first arena in the game, for example. King will announce when the grinder opens, and you’ll definitely notice the massive pinkish glowing swirling blades.
It is super easy to knock robots into those blades with the wrecking balls you start the game with. All you need to do is punch the robots in the direction of the blades and they’ll fall right in.
The same goes for the other rotating spike traps that you will find in the arenas, or the spikes on the walls. Knocking an enemy bot into a wall full of spikes will deal a ton of damage, and stick them there for a while to buy you some more time to deal with their buddies.
Even the car wrecks and explosive barrels can be useful, especially if you have a grabber arm to throw them with. So don’t forget to utilize your environment to deal extra damage.
5: Knock Bomb Robots Into Enemies
Bomb bots are a unique enemy in UNDERDOGS in that they can be just as much of a danger to your opponents as they can be to you.
As long as you are mobile and aware of your surroundings the bomb bots should have a very hard time sneaking up on you and exploding themselves. Even if they do get close they will make a very loud noise when activating themselves.
It’s easy to get rid of them by knocking them over to the other side of the arena and letting them blow up harmlessly and far away.
Though a better alternative is to knock them into an enemy. The bomb bot will stick to them and then blow up shortly after. This can be especially effective against a large group of enemies, and deals a ton of damage while also getting rid of the bomb bot.
Make sure to utilize the bots just as you would utilize your environment to deal damage to your enemies. Oh, but keep in mind that doing too much damage to a bomb bot will cause it to instantly explode, so be careful when handling them.
6: Save Some Money
This UNDERDOGS tip is especially relevant once you start surviving far into your runs and reach the late game.
While buying new equipment and weapons is a great way to increase your combat potential, it is also important to try and avoid breaking the bank so badly that you don’t have the money to afford repairs you might need before next fight.
In UNDERDOGS you have to take what brief opportunities you can get to upgrade the Gorilla, because they don’t come as often as you might like, but at the same time make sure that you have enough cash on hand for any repairs you might need. It’s a delicate balance, but your first priority is always to not be destroyed, and so prioritize cash for repairs first.
When you are about to defeat the second mech boss in the game and are nearing the start of your Backdoor Run to complete the game, don’t think that you should spend all of your cash before the run begins.
You will actually have a couple of opportunities to spend your money on repairs during the Backdoor Run. Trust me, you’re going to want to have the money to afford those repairs.
7: Choose Your Gear Wisely
Before each non boss fight in the arena you’ll be given a choice of patron, each of which changes something about the fight, but that’s not what is important about which one you pick.
What’s important is what kind of gear the patron gives, and what kind of gear you already have for your mech during your current run.
Your most consistent source of equipment to upgrade your mech will be as rewards for completing a fight, though you can definitely supplement this with random finds and purchases in between battles. Still, read what sort of gear each patron gives you, and see if those rewards are helpful for your current situation. For instance, if you’re spending a lot on repairs, consider going for a patron that offers Tanking gear.
What’s more important though, is getting gear that synergizes well with your current loadout. Now this isn’t something you will be able to master in a run or two, it takes time, but winning UNDERDOGS is more than likely going to take you quite a few runs. That’s the nature of the game as a roguelike.
Still, during each run make sure to read the descriptions of items and really think about what they might go well with. If you’ve got an arm that shocks an enemy each time you hit it, then pick a patron that offers shock damage gear and upgrades.
Buy some items that give bonuses when enemies are shocked, and you might find that you create a combo that does incredible damage. Basically focus on getting add-ons, quirks, and upgrades that give bonuses to the equipment you already have.
With a little luck and some forethought you can get fists powerful enough to destroy enemies in one or two hits.
You can also try out combinations of items in skirmish mode to increase your familiarity with them, and try out new combos to see what works and what doesn’t.
At the end of the day luck is a big component in what equipment you get, and you can always win with lacking equipment if you use your patience, skill, and stamina. Mastering the numbers and equipment of UNDERDOGS just makes the fights a lot easier if you do it right.
Anyway those are all of the UNDERDOGS Tips and Tricks that I’ve got for you. Enjoy yourself out there in the arena and good luck making it to New Brakka. See you there.

With the full release of Blade and Sorcery we finally have the Crystal Hunt game mode! This brings real RPG mechanics and progression to Blade and Sorcery, and also a brand new sense of challenge.
You can’t just use whatever armor, weapons, and spells as you’d like in Crystal Hunt as you could in Sandbox, so naturally Blade and Sorcery’s crystal hunt game mode is going to be a bit harder. You’ll have to do more with less, and also come up against more dangerous enemies as you become more powerful.
Well don’t fear, because we’ve got 9 fantastic Blade and Sorcery Tips and Tricks for you to help you master the Crystal Hunt game mode and fight your way through this VR RPG.
With these Tips and Tricks you won’t have to be the best at fighting enemies in Blade & Sorcery and still complete every challenge that the Crystal Hunt has to offer.
1. Aim For The Head
The opponents that you’ll be fighting throughout your crystal hunt, and there will be a ton of them to fight, have the same weak spots that normal humans do. They also react to being hurt a lot like normal humans do as well.
Stabbed in the arm? Then they might very well drop what they’re holding in that arm. Stabbed in the head? Well uh… then they’re dead.
The head and neck are always the most vulnerable spots on your enemies’ bodies. Even the ones wearing plate armor can be taken down quickly with a thrust to an unprotected face or neck.
So if you want to take down an enemy quickly then aim for their head or neck. Give them a slash or a stab in one of these vulnerable places and you will have one less opponent to worry about.
2. Use The Right Weapon For The Job
Precisely aiming for an enemy’s weak head and neck is easier against lower tier enemies, but gets harder once you start fighting well armored knights.
Even the cruder armor that earlier enemies wear on their bodies can block the blade of a sword, and the further you get in the Crystal Hunt then the more armored enemies you will encounter, making this Blade and Sorcery Tip important in the mid to late game.
This is where blunt weapons can come in handy. While not as great at hurting unarmored flesh as bladed weapons, blunt weapons like maces and mauls don’t care much if what they’re hitting is covered in armor or not. They’re also great for knocking down or stunning opponents.
The effectiveness of weapons against armor also depends on the quality of the weapon, which you can view in your inventory screen while holding the weapon in question.
Generally bladed weapons of higher tiers are better at stabbing or slicing through armor, while maces of higher tiers generally bash better than earlier ones. Some weapons are also lighter, or heavier, and so what you prefer comes down to personal preference.
Having both blunt and bladed weapons equipped and available might be beneficial to you, or you could try to specialize in one or the other. It’s easier and more effective to deal a lot of damage if you are precise with a blade.
Though, if you just want to smash your enemy however you can without caring whether they’re armored or not, blunt weapons are always effective if you land your blows with vigor.
3. Choose Your Crystals Carefully
Speaking of your playstyle, one of the most important and more permanent choices you will make in Blade and Sorcery’s Crystal Hunt is what magical crystals you pick.
Different types of crystals give you different types of magical abilities, and those different abilities greatly affect how you play Blade and Sorcery, so let’s talk about them.
While a complete overview of the powers that each crystal type gives you is a whole article in and of itself, here’s a few tips.
If you want your bladed weapons to be better at piercing armor then imbuing them with fire will make them pierce metal much more effectively.
At the same time the gravity crystal is great for imbuing blunt weapons to knock enemies into the air. Gravity magic also gives you a lot more options when traversing levels, like the option to blast yourself up high or slowly fall to avoid fall damage.
If you want more health then the Body crystal gives you some general combat upgrades that also increase your maximum health.
The lightning crystal is great for stunning enemies and is useful if you don’t want to be overwhelmed by a large group. So is the Mind crystal, which lets you slow down time. This can be particularly useful if you get overwhelmed in large or fast fights. The Mind crystal also greatly expands your telekenetic powers beyond just grabbing items.
Keep in mind that you can get up to three of each type of crystal, and the more you invest in a single type of crystal the more powerful the abilities you get from each is. It is generally better to specialize in a few types than spread your investment out, but that also depends on your preferences. The most powerful abilities are locked behind higher tiers of crystal.
There are an absolute ton of abilities to unlock, and even certain abilities that you can only get with certain combinations of crystals.
If you’re the type who wants to plan out your build before committing to which sort of crystals you want to get, then you can always check all of the crystals and what abilities they will give you out in the Sandbox mode. Though beware getting too far into the Sandbox as there may be spoilers.
4. Bring Plenty Of Healing Items
Of course one of your greatest magical abilities that you start Blade and Sorcery’s Crystal Hunt with is your inventory, which can store a massive amount of items right from the beginning. Honestly, it’s more storage than you will probably ever need.
If there’s one Blade and Sorcery Tip that is both obvious and essential it’s to not lose all of your health and die. Healing items will keep that from happening.
Well, as soon as you’ve got the cash to spare you should be filling that inventory with more healing items than you’ll probably need. While this might be expensive in the early game, as you get further into the Crystal Hunt you’ll have plenty of opportunities to make money (more on that soon) and the number one thing that will increase your survivability is having as many healing items as you need.
Think about it. Potions, eggs, and apples don’t weigh much, and having a few on hand at all times can be the difference between victory and defeat. Being able to top your health off between, or even during, fights means that you’ll be able to take a lot more punishment if you got roughed up earlier in the run.
So once you’ve got some spare money it can save your life to make sure you’ve got at least a couple of potions on you at all times.
5. Weapons Can Be Found But Armor Must Be Bought
You’ll notice pretty early on that while you can pick up weapons from fallen enemies in Blade and Sorcery, you won’t be able to keep them once you finish the dungeon you are in.
The only weapons that you keep with you between runs are the ones you buy, but there are always plenty of enemies who drop a wide variety of weapons in each dungeon.
So really you only need to take down one or two enemies at the beginning of a run in order to pick up a half decent weapon from one of their bodies.
Of course there are some weapons that enemies don’t wield and must be bought, mostly big mauls and big swords, and if you want to invest your money there go ahead, they are your coins after all.
Though if you want to play as optimally as possible and increase your chances of victory as quickly as possible then it’s wise to invest in some armor before you spend your money on weapons that you can just pick up from enemies anyway. You can’t pick up armor during your runs, since armor has to be bought and equipped before you go.
Oh, and when you’re buying armor keep in mind that it has stats just like weapons do. Some armor is better for spellcasting, and some for survivability, make sure to pick what fits your playstyle.
6. You Can Always Repeat Missions For Infinite Cash
Of course you don’t have to think so stingily about your ingame money if you don’t mind a little farming. If you want to you can run as many dungeons and arena battles as you want to collect more cash.
You don’t have to go to the ruins to collect your next crystal once you have the map pieces you need to find it. You can just keep doing outposts and arena battles instead.
So if you just want a little more cash to stock up on healing items, or get that piece of equipment you’ve had your eye on, you can do as many runs as you would like to collect more money before getting your next crystal.
Of course better equipment becomes available later on in the game once you collect more crystals, and the rewards get better for each run as well. Though of course, like in many games, these better rewards come at the price of more difficult enemies.
So you can always get some practice, upgrade crystals, and cash by doing a few extra runs or arena fights. Oh, and keep in mind that in outpost missions your goal is to get to the end and get the loot from the chest in the final room. The enemies there are obstacles, not the goal, so you can sometimes just run past them instead of spending time fighting.
Oh, and make sure to check how big of a reward you get for doing a mission by looking at the stack of coins icon above the travel button when that mission is selected. The bigger the stack of coins, the bigger the payout.
7. Experiment
You would be really surprised at just how many effective fighting tactics there are in Blade and Sorcery. Some are, of course, dependent on what crystals and equipment you decide to invest in.
There are a lot of different combinations of sorcery, weapons, and tactics that are extremely effective against your enemies.
For instance, on my first playthrough I started with the Lightning Crystal background, and quickly discovered that stunning my enemies with lightning and then quickly attacking their faces was a very effective tactic.
Even if you didn’t take the lightning crystal you might discover that even your humble foot can be just as effective as a ball of magical lightning in stunning an opponent in front of you to leave them open for attack.
You might discover that jumping around the battlefield can give you a sudden boost to your mobility, and help you dodge incoming attacks.
You might find new uses for your spells, or imbue your weapons with them more often. Blade and Sorcery can just be a game of smashing your way through your opponents if you like, but if you want to be really effective it will take a little creativity.
Still, you don’t need a degree in fantasy combat to come up with new and unique methods of defeating your opponents. Just try new things. Even a chicken can be an effective weapon if you use it right. Experimenting is where a lot of the fun of Blade & Sorcery is, and also how you’ll find the most effective ways to use your items and abilities.
BONUS Blade And Sorcery Golem TIP
As a thank you for reading this far, here’s a bonus tip for fighting the Golem, the boss which guards each new crystal shard.
To defeat the golem you need to destroy each of the pink crystals on its body, and some of the crystals are shielded and will only be vulnerable after you break these larger blue crystals that are spread around the golem combat arena.
These pink and blue crystals can be broken by hitting them, or even from afar with ranged attacks. Though you might notice that some of the pink crystals on the golem are harder to attack than others, especially those on the golem’s shoulders and back.
However, whenever you break one of the blue crystals the golem will be stunned briefly. This gives you some time to jump on the golem and break a crystal before it recovers. So when this happens quickly run over to the golem and break one of the crystals that are harder to reach, don’t waste the opportunity on a crystal that is easy to break anyway.
Once you break all of the crystals, then the crystal shard inside the golem’s head is yours for the taking.
Well, that’s it for these 7 essential Blade and Sorcery Tips and Tricks for the Crystal Hunt gamemode. Armed with this knowledge and a sense of adventure you will be more than ready to tackle all of the challenges the game has in store for you. Enjoy!

Having a little trouble sneaking, assassinating, and fighting your way through Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR on the Oculus Quest 2 or 3?
Well good thing you found your way here, because this article is packed with useful tips and tricks to help you complete the 12 lengthy missions with each of the 3 Assassin’s Creed characters with as little trouble as possible in this fantastic VR game.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus is the only Assassin’s Creed game to come to the Meta Quest and so it’s a very unique experience for this franchise. You’ll have to master skills that might seem easy on the flatscreen, but will require more coordination, movement, and forethought in Virtual Reality.
With that in mind let’s dive right into these 5 Useful Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks on the Oculus Quest 3 and 2.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks - Climb High To Stay Unseen
It’s no secret that Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR has one of the best movement and parkour systems in all of Virtual Reality gaming.
The ability to run, vault, and climb like an Assassin’s Creed character with your actual hands using the Oculus Quest 3 or 2’s touch controllers is absolutely fantastic, and immerses you into the feeling of being an elite assassin like never before. Of course this ability, as awesome as it is, also comes with new challenges and opportunities.
It’s even sort of physically tiring to pull yourself up over ledges and swing from rooftop to rooftop if you do it for long enough, but it’s always worth it when you can.
Mastering the ways that you can traverse the world in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is vital because you get a lot of advantages by being up high instead of on the ground. While it can be tempting to sneak around where your enemies are, staying up high whenever you can is almost always a great idea.
Most guards will be on the ground floor, and they won’t be able to see you if you’re up above them, their eyes will stay on ground level. So climbing on top of a building will make you practically invisible to most of the enemies patrolling and looking for you, and you’ll find a lot more easy opportunities to ambush or sneak past your opponents.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks - If You’re Losing A Fight You Can Just Run
Though if the alarm is raised you won’t be quite so invisible to guards, and might find yourself in a fight.
The combat in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is pretty easy to learn, but despite the skills of the three different playable assassins in this VR game, you’re far from invincible.
In fact you’re actually kind of fragile, even on normal difficulty, and a few hits can take you to the game over screen and force you to restart from a checkpoint. This, of course, isn’t ideal.
Remember though, you’re an assassin. Speed, skill, and stealth are your greatest assets, and there’s no reason not to use them. If a fight isn’t going your way then you can always run. This is an especially good idea if you’re wounded or heavily outnumbered.
Using your parkour is also a good idea here. So getting up high is a great way to break their line of sight to you and run away to get some distance before coming back when the alarm has died down.
Breaking off from the fight and letting things cool off for a bit is a great way to give yourself more opportunities to ambush your enemies from stealth.
There’s also plenty of other Assassin’s Creed tactics that appear in Assassin’s Creed Nexus as well, like the ability to hide inside of bushes or stacks of hay. If nobody sees you go into it then just be patient until they go away.
This is a useful skill to have because there will also be times that you’re forced to flee, like after each Assassination mission.
Generally you can run whenever you want, but sometimes you will be forced to fight without the ability to flee, you generally can if things aren’t going your way. Luckily there are plenty of tools in your arsenal to help with that as well.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks - Don’t Forget Your Ranged Weapons
Whether you’re stealthing around or found yourself in an unfavorable brawl, you’ve got some useful weapons other than your sword and hidden blade that you can use to even the odds.
While you’ll have limited ammunition for them, using your limited resources is generally preferable to losing, so don’t forget these tools and use them when you need them. Oh, and if you don’t have some of these yet then don’t worry, you’ll unlock them as you progress through the missions.
The throwing knives are a great way to easily take down an enemy and even the numbers of a fight when they aren’t ready for it. While some enemies that are ready for the knife can block it out of the way, plenty of them won’t see it coming and will be brought down by a single knife.
Even tougher officer enemies will take a good bit of damage from them if you hit them when they aren’t prepared for it. Throwing knives can silently take down enemies, but they’re also easy to use in the heat of combat in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR.
Your bow is more cumbersome to use, but has greater range and deadlier accuracy. Especially in the case of Ezio’s Crossbow.
This is an especially good weapon to use from stealth, or when you get a little height and distance from your enemies so that you’ve got the time to use it.
The best use of the bow is on enemies that are looking down from high places like rooftops or walls. They should always be your first targets for stealthy takedowns, and it’s generally easier to just shoot them from afar than try to make your way over to them and use your hidden blade.
While you can’t just easily shoot down all of your enemies from far away using your ranged weapons due to your limited ammo, they’re a great way to remove guards that are especially troublesome without having to get up close and personal.
Though if you have to get up close and get spotted you can always use your smoke bombs to help you escape. They’re very powerful, even in the linear sections of the game where you don’t really have anywhere to run to.
Smoke Bombs will stun your enemies and also give you a window to run through the smoke and take them down with your hidden blade before they even knew what hit them.
While it can be easy to forget these tools, or it may seem like too much trouble to access them while you’re fighting for your life, use them whenever you’re in a tough spot.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks - Stealth Is Vital
Knowing how to properly utilize stealth in Assassin’s Creed Nexus is vital to being a good assassin.
Even if you’re a more combat oriented player, which is a completely valid playstyle in many cases, it’s still great to even the odds before jumping into combat by getting a few ambush kills with your hidden blade. You might even be able to eavesdrop on a conversation and get some helpful information on what to do next.
Speaking of the hidden blade, it’s a great way to take out enemies quickly, even if they just noticed you, but before they become alerted. If you don’t have the patience for stealth then running between a few enemies that haven’t noticed you and taking them out with the hidden blade is a great way to thin them out.
Though you’ll find that it’s a lot of fun, and a great way to feel like a true Assassin’s Creed assassin, to take out guards in trickier positions by attracting them with noise. Sometimes running up to a guard will get you surrounded, or just shooting them with the bow might alert other guards nearby.
You can always attract a few guards away from the pack if they’re close together by throwing an object into a quiet corner or whistling to get their attention.
Even ignoring guards completely can be a good move at times, and some levels are laid out in a way where doing so is actually much easier than fighting your way out. So be sure to give stealth a try before you pull out your sword and rush into combat.
Even guards with keys to pickpocket can sometimes be ignored, since you can just lockpick the door or chest they have a key to instead of getting it off of them.
If you’re having trouble staying undetected, just remember to get up high when you can, and avoid guards by just looking at them for a bit so they’re marked and you’ll always know where they are, even through walls.
Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks - Explore
This is possibly less a tip to make you better at Assassin’s Creed Nexus, and more one to enhance your enjoyment of it.
I highly recommend that you take some time in between mission objectives to explore the cities you’ll find yourself in. This VR game has some of the best looking cities for you to explore, and with the parkour system, a very fun way to explore them.
There’s really no experience like Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR for exploring these historical cities in immersive Virtual Reality.
Take a little time, climb around. You’ll get a lot better with the parkour, and with other aspects of the game like your bow, if you do some of the challenges sprinkled around the map.
While you can ignore most of the massive open worlds of Assassin’s Creed Nexus and just go straight for your objectives, these cities really are magical to explore in VR. So explore a bit, especially if you’re very new to the game, and you’ll find yourself getting much better at parkour and enjoying the sights and sounds of history.
Well that’s all the Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Tips and Tricks I’ve got for you. You’ll have a better time in the Animus if you keep these tips and tricks in mind, because a good assassin is a smart one. Enjoy yourself out there in Assassin’s Creed Nexus!
